FI School Lesson 15: Estate planning
I saved the hardest for last. Estate planning is something everyone knows they need to do, but nobody wants to do. Estate planning isn’t fun, but it’s an act of love for those you care about. So read and learn, then take action today!
Note: I’d like to add more US-centric estate-planning blog content—if you have reliable resources to share, please let me know! I’ll gladly vet it then share it here.
Estate Law Canada
Lynne Butler has a huge archive of articles covering many topics related to estate law. This is a small selection of articles which I found useful:
- Epilogue Wills*: make a Will from the comfort of your home, for a fraction of the cost of seeing a lawyer.
- ICE (In Case of Emergency) Binder*: a fillable, printable binder to leave for your loved ones in case of emergency. (You can also read my full review here.)
- LastPass: to give loved ones access to your digital assets).
- Evernote: to keep an up-to-date digital record of your instructions).
